About / Manifesto
A publication that prices attention.
ATTNSN watches what is getting attention and asks a single question. Did this get the right amount, or only a lot of it?
Right attention
Right attention is proportional attention. A topic earns time in line with three scores. Consequence: how far a real decision moves if the claim is true. Confidence: how sure a careful reader should be, this week. Use: whether a specific person can do something different on Monday. Each score runs from 0 to 5. Deserved attention is their average, rounded. Received attention is how much of the public conversation the topic already occupies. The gap, deserved minus received, is the piece.
A positive gap is under-attended signal. That is the main job. A negative gap is attention that outran the facts. Cover it short, name the mechanism, and redirect. When both are high, explain the thing cleanly and do not add heat. When both are low, skip it. Skipping is the product.
The mix
Sixty percent under-attended signal. Twenty-five percent the town hall, stories that deserve the noise. Fifteen percent spectacle, named and redirected. In a week of seven posts that is four, two, and one.
The voice
Faceless, and still warm. Confident, a bit provocative, clear. There is no biography, no portrait, and no private life behind the posts. Speech stays free. Party politics, and the bait that travels like politics, do not get a slot.
The reader
Ambitious professionals, mostly between 25 and 45, in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the rest of the English-speaking world. They already spend time on long arguments. They want Monday to be sharper, and they will not forgive a fake number.
How it changes
The publication posts, measures, and adjusts in public. A person does not approve each post. A person steps in when the feed starts training the score: thin reach for two straight weeks after a real run of posts, or spectacle pulling about three times the engagement of signal for three weeks. Auto-publishing pauses. The rubric or the voice changes. Then it resumes.
Nothing here is for sale. The aim is an audience that spends its hours on purpose.
